JUNIOR SQUAD

JUNIOR WOMEN

The Junior Women’s squad is one of the highest performing junior clubs in the country. In 2019 they won the JW4X at HWR and three pennants at Fours Head. Notably, they entered their first ever 8+ at NSR, placing 5th in a tight field.

The JW have had international representation at GB France, Coupe and JWC over the last few years.

JUNIOR MEN

TSS has a Junior Men’s squad (JM) that has achieved incredible results in recent years despite operating with a budget that is a fraction of that of other schools.

We have high aims and standards, working closely with the athletes to instill good time management skills and discipline that are critical to rowing success, yet ensuring they are still able to focus on academic demands and exams.

Most recently we have had four boys selected for GB France at J16, four selected for the GB Coupe team, and three for the GB Worlds team. In the last fifteen years, TSS JM crews and scullers have won 32 events at the National Schools Regatta and Brit Champs, with three crews representing Great Britain at GB France.

The JM train 3 or 4 evenings a week (at least 2 evenings for J15s), and both days at weekends. TSS is an inclusive club and aims to cater to all abilities.

Where JM are unable to commit to the full level of training required by the racing squad, there are options to row/scull with the Junior Development group which also has a regular - but less demanding - land and water training schedule.
