This plan describes how members of TSS should behave in the event of an Emergency at Tideway Scullers School (the Club). The information given is in accordance with the requirements of Rowsafe

1. The process for summoning assistance in case of an emergency:

Dial 999 ask for Police, Fire, or Ambulance if on land. If on the water, ask for Coastguard.

2. The location of the club, including postcode and directions for emergency services:

Tideway Scullers School is at Dan Mason Drive, Dukes Meadows, W4 2SH. Direct emergency services that the club is by Chiswick Bridge.

3. A plan showing all emergency access points to the river, with post codes, what3words descriptors, or grid references where possible, to assist emergency services:

There are many access points and we cannot list them all. It is best for people to find out the what3wordslocation before they ring for help or ensure they are able to accurately describe where they are.

4. Emergency phone numbers and the location of the nearest landline telephone, if available.

Phone 999. If you don’t have a phone approach the nearest person likely to have one and ask them to phone.

5. The location of First Aid kits and the nearest Automatic External Defibrillator (AED):

First aid kits are in the bag in every launch, and in the erg room and bar area. There is a defibrillator outside the boathouse on the wall facing Chiswick Bridge, by the river.

6. Qualified First Aiders:

Fiona Betts

Chris Williams

7. Instructions on what to do in event of a fire, how to evacuate the building and the location of Assembly Points.

If a fire is identified, break the nearest call point at various points around the building, see map attached. Everyone should leave the club immediately. Assembly point is the entrance gates to the Chiswick bridge boat storage arches.

8. Process for suspending or cancelling the club activities in case of an emergency

Whoever identifies the issue / emergency must contact the CWSA or deputy or Exec committee for advice. Any decision to cancel activities will then be made and those at club told to leave. Squad / group coordinators contacted to inform all other members.
