Whether you’re completely new to rowing or looking to develop your sculling skills, our courses provide expert coaching on one of the most iconic stretches of water in the world.

Course Costs
Full courses: £345
⭐ Extra sessions: £130
(Where available, extra sessions will run on the Wednesday and Thursday afternoon of the course)

1 - Which course am I eligible for?
We split courses by age and ability level. Please see below for how we assess this.
Age Categories
We group participants by age based on how old they are on 31st August the year before the course (Reference Date).
Juniors: Under 18 on the Reference Date
Adults: 18 or older on the Reference Date.
Minimum age: 11 on the Reference Date.
Ability Level
Beginners:
Suitable if you have limited or no rowing experience, or if you are not confident to be put out in a single on the Tideway.
Improvers and Above:
Suitable if you have significant sweep rowing experience (regardless of sculling experience), or are comfortable rowing in sculling boats such as doubles or quads, even if you have not rowed in a single scull before. This course is run entirely in singles, so prior boat handling skills are important.

The course is centred on developing water skills and includes extensive time on the water. There will be at least one water session per day unless adverse conditions prevent this.
Sessions may also include safety briefings, technical discussions, equipment familiarisation and video analysis.

Our course is primarily run in singles. You are also welcome to bring your own single and rack it at the club.
For beginners, and upon request, we can arrange for bigger boats to go our.
We do not put out any sweep rowing boats as this is a sculling course.

No. The majority of the course is focused on water-based coaching, but sessions can also include safety briefings, equipment familiarisation, technical discussions and video analysis.
Launching and coming off the water can also vary in duration. We structure sessions to ensure participants can finish, store equipment and change before the advertised end time to allow you to plan your day properly.

No. These are intensive holiday sculling courses that run during the school holidays.
