Club Membership and Rules
All participants on this course become temporary members of TSS for the duration of the course. As such, you must agree to abide by the:
Club Constitution;
Club Rules;
Club Codes of Conduct;
Club Safety Rules and Risk Assessment;
(where relevant) Junior-specific Club Safety Rules and Risk Assessment;
Applicable requirements of British Rowing;
Applicable requirements of the PLA.

Insurance
The Club’s insurance policy covers third-party and member-to-member claims only when using Club equipment.
As a temporary TSS member, you agree to indemnify the Club and its officers (whether through insurance or otherwise) against any other claims arising from your membership activities on or off the river.
Safety
Safety is our top priority on all courses. By signing up to our courses you agree that:
You are able to swim at least 200m.
You are 11 years or older and weigh at least 45kg.
Rowing and sculling is undertaken entirely at your own risk.
You have provided full details of any conditions or situations that could affect your participation.
Course Ability Guidelines:
We separate course by ability to ensure safety and enjoyment:
Beginner: Limited or no rowing experience; not confident in a single on the Tideway.
Intermediate & Above: Significant sweep or sculling experience; comfortable in doubles or quads; prior boat handling skills are essential.
You agree to your records being stored securely, and your data being used in connection with the organisation, running and administration of the Alec Hodges Sculling Course in a GDPR compliant manner.
Data Privacy
Early cancellations: If cancellations are received 6 weeks (42 days or more) before the course start date, a full refund will be issued.
Late cancellations: If cancellations are received between 2-6 weeks (14-41 days) before the course start date, a refund will be issued minus a £50 administration fee.
Last-minute withdrawals: If cancellations are received less than 2 weeks (13 days or fewer) before the course start date, no refund will be made.
Amendments: Transfers to another course may be accommodated subject to availability and a £30 administration fee.
Organiser cancellations: In the unlikely event that the Club is unable to run the course or any substantial part of it, an appropriate refund will be issued.
Please ensure you have adequate insurance in case you are unable to attend and a refund cannot be provided under these conditions.
